SEMINAR-TRAINING IN YEREVAN

“New Generation” as a leading organization that works with MSM organized a 1-day seminar-training on “Prevention of HIV /AIDS and importance of HIV testing” and “Human rights and HIV. 

The goal of the training was to inform the project beneficiaries on the importance of HIV testing, as well as break stereotypes related to HIV testing and prevention.%d5%b4%d5%ab%d5%a1%d5%be

While talking about the importance of HIV testing one of the participants mentioned: ″We should take care of our health and consider all the rules of our safety. There is an HIV window period during which a person can be infected with HIV and be very infectious but still test HIV negative. The window period can last from 3 months to 6 months. During that time, you can test HIV negative even though you are HIV positive. You can still catch HIV from someone who is in the window period″.

The training was initiated in the scope of “HIV and AIDS prevention and awareness raising among MSM in Shirak, Lori regions and in Yerevan city” project which is implemented with the financial support of the Global Fund against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, Mission East/Armenia.
