“Elena’s substantial experience and participation in the fight against the HIV epidemic in Ukraine, and in the broader EECA region, will undoubtedly benefit ECOM and enrich our team,” commented ECOM’s Executive Director, Vitaly Djuma, following the hiring of Elena.
Elena has worked for more than 15 years in the field of HIV services. She manages the Mykolaiv city based movement “Penitentiary Initiative”, which works with MSM in prisons, instructs new police units in Ukraine, and has thus far worked at the International Charity Fund (ICF) “Alliance for Public Health”. Her professional experience includes the organization and provision of technical support on various aspects of HIV prevention, such as trainings, the development of individual preventative interventions and country-specific packages of services for MSM, as well as the provision of technical assistance to MSM-service and LGBT organizations in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Moldova.
The Program Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of ECOM’s current activities, including planning, organizing, and controlling program and project implementation, managing the staff of program departments, and establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships and working relationships with ECOM members, partner organizations, donors, and other stakeholders.
