More than 200000 people with disabilities are currently living in Armenia. The majority of them has no opportunities to be involved in public life and fully realize their rights because of stereotypes, stigma, lack of information and safe spaces, non-inclusive approaches and other reasons.
To gradually eliminate these reasons «Society without discrimination» initiative group received a sub-grant, which aims to develop tools of prevention of discrimination against people with disabilities through increasing awareness of their parents and family members.
Within the frames of the project ″Society without discrimination″ initiative group intends to conduct a seminar on discrimination for parents and other family members of people with disabilities, publish, print and disseminate flyers and booklets on discrimination for parents and other family members of people with disabilities, conduct 4 trainings in Kotayq, Aragatsotn, Armavir and Ararat regions, as well as implement an online photo campaign entitled ″Parents against discrimination″ with participation of project beneficiaries.
The goal of ″Awareness for equality and inclusion″ project is to strengthen capacities of beneficiary groups and through them increase the level of the public awareness on discrimination, its consequences and importance of fight against discrimination.
″Awareness for equality and inclusion″ project is implemented in the scope of ″More awareness, Less Discrimination: capacity building and empowerment of vulnerable groups and CSOs for elimination of discrimination″ project which is financed by the Open Society Foundations – Armenia.
